Fabulous Friday!

Happy Fabulous Friday everyone!

I hope you had a great week. Next week, I'm off to a fabuloso blogging conference in Toronto, called... sheblogs LINK2013! It's an opportunity for advertisers and media representatives to LINK with the sheblogs team (I'm part of this team) of over 100 Canadian women bloggers.

Ummmm...I'm SUPER excited!! I'll let you all know how it goes but you'll know where I am if I don't get all my blogs out next week!

I also wanted to say thank you to Rachel at Blissful Bakker for giving a shout out to Keep it Beautiful!
Check out the amazing feature of The Blissful Bakker on my new friend Alicia’s blog Keep it Beautiful.  Alicia and I met at the cottage this summer and quickly found out we were both passionate about a lot of the same things… decorating, baking, drinking wine and blogging!  She has the most beautiful DIY projects on her website and was kind enough to feature some of my baked treats.  Make sure you check out some of her fabulous project ideas.  You are going to want to make all of them!
Guess what came this week? The latest Style at Home and yup....it's about Christmas! Gasp! Christmas already, oh my!! Not sure my headspace is there yet, but I could be convinced :)

Have a fresh.fabulous.sophisticated weekend!
Keep it Beautiful.

So Long Summer Seashells, Hello Fall Mums!

Hi everyone!

Hope you had a fab weekend! We had a great weekend, with one of the highlights being our little guy's 2nd birthday! Fun :)  He had a "digger" party...I'll show you a few pics soon. I also did a design consultation with a new client which was fun.  She needed a little dining room and playroom inspiration for her little guy to hang in.  If you need a little design help, please send me an email and I would be happy to work with you.

Have you done any Fall decorating yet?  It's definitely time to take down your summer displays and say hello to Autumn. Here's what's going on Fall-wise on our front step...honestly, if you have an urn then all you need is a pot of mums, sticks and VOILA! Instant Fall love!

My mama has a little fall decor going on at the cottage too...you can find these cutie acorns at Homesense!

One of my "besties", Julie, turned a ho-hum pot of mums into an easy, fab Fall DIY to show you...

Here's what you need:
- pot of mums
- burlap
-scissors
-bungee cord

All you need to do is wrap the pot in burlap and secure it with a bungee....can it be any easier??

Voila! Add a few do-dads and you have a fresh.fabulous.sophisticated Fall DIY. Thanks Jules!

Fabulous Friday: A Little Target LOVE!

Happy Fabulous Friday everyone!

As soon as I heard the red bullseye was going to be hitting Ottawa, my little heart skipped a beat.  At last it has arrived to Ottawa and opened it's doors.  Swoon! Anytime I'm in the U.S. I hit Target so I've been waiting for it's doors to open on this side of the border.

This week I ventured into the store with two of the three kiddies in tow.  Since Target's arrival in Canada, the store has received quite a bit of criticism that the products weren't as good as what is offered in the U.S. stores and that the prices weren't comparable.  I toured the store and have to say that I was really impressed with what they have brought to Canada as well as the prices.  Yup, some of the items weren't dirt cheap BUT a lot of the prices were really good with lots of options on style.

I really liked the home décor items.  The patterns were right on trend, there were many "knock-off" versions of much higher priced items from other stores and there was a ton of selection.

Pretty side tables...

Remember Beaver Canoe? Holy blast-from-the-past! They have an exclusive line at Target...

I thought these outdoor items were pretty and fall-like...

Need a slipper chair? Look at these fab patterns??

Great towel selection!

This dining room chair would look great in a lot of homes! And...the price is amazing at 79.00!

You can find this style of stool in many other high end home design stores.  You can get it at target for $99...fab.

 Lamp shades anyone?

These baskets could be used for so many things.  How cute would these look in a playroom, labeled using chalk? Or, "his" and "hers" laundry? yes!

Although I didn't come home with any home décor items (hard to believe), I have my eye on this  beige ottoman with the nail head trim, that I think would look fab in our tv room.  It's only $69.99, has storage and the only reason it didn't come home with me is because I didn't have room to put it in my cart with the two kiddies ;)

I did leave with a few grocery items, a hat and mitts for our middle guy and these fresh.fabulous.sophisticated boots. They're brown, tall, have a fab zipper up the back and we're only $49.99!!  Thank you Target!

Oh AND...they have a Starbucks in the store.  You had me at "Skinny-extra hot-cinnamon dolce latte"!

Keep it Beautiful.

After the Tour

Hi everyone.  I usually post a recipe on Wednesdays for Wednesday Yummies but I wanted to tell you all about the Glebe House Tour last weekend.  Stay tuned next Wednesday for a treat! I met a great gal this summer up at the cottage who has a blog all about baking! mmmm. I'll tell you all about it next Wednesday :)

Well, the House Tour is over and was a success! The weather in Ottawa was beauty, the crowds were plentiful and I was thrilled with how the house looked.

Mr. Fix-it took the boys up to the cottage while I stayed in the city with our baby girl to get the final touches done on the house.  I have to tell you all how amazing Mr. Fix-it has been this summer. Every night in the summer that he wasn't at the cottage, he was working on the house to get it ready for the Tour.  From stripping and painting the porch, to touching up paint in the house, to moving furniture...he worked his tail off. I really couldn't have done it without him. Thanks babe!  It may look pretty but the bones are all him.

There were beautiful homes on the House Tour. It's a great opportunity to get ideas for your own homes and see all different styles of décor. Fab.

I'm going to update the photos of our home under "OUR HOME" but here's a sneak peak on the latest and what the folks on the Tour saw.  If you had tickets for the Tour, I hope you enjoyed it and were inspired to tackle a few projects of your own in your home.

All the flower arrangements were donated by Bloomfields Flowers in the Glebe.

That store is heaven and the staff are so talented.  Thank you for making my dining room table look gorg.

I also want to thank my girlfriend Diane who was our house rep.  Not only is she a great friend but a really awesome real estate agent (I'm totally plugging her ;)  Honestly, if you need your house sold or looking to buy...she and her business partner Jenny are your gals.  Check them out....http://dianeandjen.com/

Now that the Tour is over Mr. Fix-it gets to have a little break ;)  I'm focusing on doing some design work with a few new clients and of course blogging to you all.  I can't stay away too long from a good reno or DIY project ;)

Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in my design services.

Talk to you Friday.

Keep it Beautiful.
